This photograph portrays the life of a flame engulfing a rose. Red, orange, yellow and black predominate the image and give it an abstract quality while the picture itself could be interpreted as a still life. It was created by actually lighting a rose on fire.

There is something fulfilling about capturing a moment in time�particularly as the sun makes its first or last appearance.
