This photograph was taken during the Super Moon event in November, 2016. Monument Valley (translated to "valley of the rock") is part of the Colorado Plateau. It's made up of a cluster of huge sandstone buttes, the largest scaling 1,000 ft above the floor of the valley. Located near the Four Corners area part of the Arizona/Utah border, the valley is part of the Navajo Nation Reservation.

The Valley has been featured in many movies and television shows since the 1930s. Also, It has been used by John Ford, the director, for a number of his best-known films and has defined what moviegoers imagine the American West would be.

There is something fulfilling about capturing a moment in time�particularly as the sun makes its first or last appearance. My photographic work reflects an affinity for movement and sound; the latter reminiscent of a song, starting calmly, building strength, power and energy, until the shutter releases and the image is recorded as the ultimate crescendo. While I am mostly drawn to the grand landscape, my portfolio includes macro, still life and abstract work as well, showcasing a relationship between color and light.
